Project Assistant

Job objective
The Assistant is to assist Project Manager on a day-to-day basis in project management tasks and carry responsibility for sub-tasks. We offer a challenging and international working environment with growing responsibilities.

Job duties
 Preparing agenda, spread supporting materials and keeping minutes of biweekly progress meetings with Client
 Prepare formal correspondence on behalf of Project Manager
 Create and frequently update a coherent overview of data sources and activities
 Stakeholder management: Prepare and assist during stakeholder meetings, keep track of meetings and contact details, spread supporting material
 Guide international visiting staff, acquainting them in our Muscat Office and around
 Prepare field trips to Dhofar and Al Wusta: arrange accommodation and transport, and function as focal point for attendees during trips
 Assist Project Manager with monthly Progress Report

Minimum qualifications
 Must be Omani National and Arabic native speaker
 Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Urban Planning, Engineering or Geography/Economics, related fields can be discussed: Business Administration, Law, Environmental Studies etc.
 Preferably 1-2 years relevant experience in Government and/or Private sector in Oman
 Confident in working with MSOffice (Word, Outlook and Xcel)
 Being able to join frequent multi-day trips to Dhofar and Al Wusta

 Accurate worker with an eye for detail
 Open to learn with creative and problem solving attitude
 Excellent communication skills, written and spoken, both in Arabic and English
 Endowed to build strong relations with stakeholders and client
 Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible, versatile and/or tolerant in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency
 flexible to work in an International mix environment
 Willing to relocate for temporary business assignments in other gulf countries


Contractual
 Character of Contract: temporary/ project based
 Duration of Contract: 12 months (extension of Contract is optional)

Working Conditions
 The Assistant will be working from our Oman Office in Muscat
 The Assistant works in an office environment, yet the work sometimes requires non-standard workplaces such as conference halls, hotels, other public places or in open air
 The Assistant works a standard work week (Sun – Thu,8.00 – 17.00). Occasionally, working on evening and in weekends can be required to accommodate activities such as stakeholder meetings and public events. Employee will be reimbursed with equivalent time.
